Hello World indeed. This is my travel blog, for as long as I should be an itinerant English teacher. I thought I’d see the world, you see, and this is how I’m going to do it. I’m going to say Hello to the World in a way that I never have before.
I’m going to the Republic of Georgia, aka Sakartvelo, to teach English. My contract is for one school year – September through June. I do not know where I will be placed although I expect it will be in a city or town in Imereti province. If all goes according to plan I will be flying out on August 30th – that is, in 24 days. I’m going through Footprints Recruiting, who come highly recommended from the internet.
I’m not really sure what else to say for my introductory post. I intend this to be a travel blog, of sorts, where I will document my trip to Georgia, including the events leading up to it. I’ve got some thoughts in my personal journal that I will be reposting here, perhaps with some repackaging. I’d like to compile some posts about the preparation and research that I have been doing, particularly about what I will bring and what sorts of medical precautions I need to take and whatnot. And hopefully I’ll update this blog more faithfully than my poor abandoned philosophy blog.
For now, I leave you with this:
